Primary Health Medical Group is seeking qualified Electronic Health Records (EHR) Specialist applicants for full time positions located at our Administrative Office in Garden City.

Status: Full time, 40 hours per week

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 am-5:00 pm

Job Purpose: The EHR Application Specialist is the software expert and point person for all issues related to the software, and its applications for Primary Health Medical Group workflows. These workflows will include front and back office clinic processes as well as billing functions. The position will also be responsible for coordinating with the vendor regarding system upgrades and day-to-day issues in cooperation with the Director of Information Technology and staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Defines application problem by conferring with customers; evaluating procedures and processes.
  • Develops solution by preparing and evaluating alternative workflow solutions.
  • In conjunction with EHR Project Manager, provide training and education for providers and staff.
  • Validates changes or updates by testing the EHR program.
  • Ensures operation by training company personnel and providing support.
  • Provides reference by writing documentation.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
  • Analyze and route issues into the proper ticketing systems and update and close tickets promptly.
  • Devise or modify procedures to solve problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations.
  • Establish new users, manage access levels and reset passwords.
  • Conduct application testing and provide database management support.
  • Create and maintain documentation as necessary for operational and security audits.
  • Will open up cases with eCW helpdesk portal on eCW issues.
  • Will be the point of contact after hours if the on-call tech cannot resolve an eCW issue.
Qualifications:
  • Must have 2+ years’ experience in the health care industry.
  • Must be experienced working with Electronic Health Records software (preferably eClinicalworks), Software Documentation, Software Testing, Software Maintenance, Software Development Process, Teamwork, General Consulting Skills, Software Architecture.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and respond appropriately under pressure.
  • Extensive computer software skills are required to include word processing, spreadsheet, and database use. Ability to meet deadlines and respond appropriately under pressure. Training and public speaking skills
