Primary Health Medical Group is seeking qualified applicants for Registered Nurse to work in our new Pediatric Urgent Care clinic opening March, 2019. The chosen candidate will receive customized orientation and training to help you be successful in your nursing role and learning opportunities to continue to grow in your skills. You will work in a team environment to promote a positive experience in patient care with compassion and kindness. You will support licensed staff and provider(s) in providing an excellent patient experience by efficiently meeting the patient's needs. You will support efficient clinic flow and communicate accurately and positively with team members. The ideal candidate is passionate about working with kids, their families and is customer service oriented.

Status: Part Time, 27 hours

Schedule: Thursday, Friday, Saturday 1pm-10pm

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for assessing pediatric patients, administering oral, rectal, intramuscular, and intravenous medications
• Knowledge in pediatric pharmacology, EKG’s, collecting and preparing laboratory specimens
• Assist in examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a provider and/or physician, which could include casting, bracing, and injections
• Provides clinical triage/communication as defined by protocol or per provider instructions
• Performing pediatric venipuncture, IV insertion/placement, medication administration and urinary catheterization
• Prepare treatment rooms for examination of patients including sterilization, cleaning, and checks on medical equipment
• Prepare basic laboratory tests on premises and prepares laboratory specimens
• Perform Phlebotomy involved with proper collection, labeling, processing, and distribution of specimens for laboratory testing on pediatric patients
• Assist back office in managing patient flow, paperwork, and customer service
• Provide quality customer service and patient education based on assessment of needs
• Performs tests and procedures as ordered
• Accurately document patient encounters and interventions performed
• Relay provider instruction to patients
• Assist with all non-direct patient care tasks (autoclaving, stocking room, scanning records, mailing, etc.)
• Aids in identifying methods of improving patient care
• Assist Front Office Staff in managing details of patients, schedule and referrals
• Assists or leads in emergency situations
• Maintains confidentiality regarding patient and business functions of the organization, i.e. HIPPA
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Minimum of one year of pediatric experience is required. Pediatric emergency room, pediatric hospital unit or pediatric urgent care experience preferred.
• RNs will have a degree from an accredited School of Nursing and have a current Idaho nursing license
• BLS certified
• Venipuncture skills are required
• Customer service oriented attitude/behavior
• Computer proficiency is required and ability to use applicable software as required performing the essential functions of the job
