Your Day.

As a Medical Scribe you need to know how to:
 

  • Accurately document patient encounters to include medical histories, physical examinations, procedures performed, and other relevant information in the EMR (electronic medical record) system
  • Accompany provider(s) during patient examinations and procedures, providing real-time documentation support
  • Demonstrate proficiency in medical terminology, abbreviations, and acronyms to ensure accurate and comprehensive documentation
  • Enter patient information, test results, prescriptions, and other data into the EMR system promptly and accurately
  • Assist in providing patient education materials under the direction of healthcare providers 
  • Collaborate effectively with providers, back office staff and other staff members to ensure smooth clinic operations and patient satisfaction
  • Provide administrative support as needed, including scheduling appointments/surgeries, working prior authorizations, answering phone calls, and managing patient records
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding patient and business functions of the organization, i.e. HIPAA
  • Perform other duties as assigned


Your experience.

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Medical Scribe or work in a similar role, preferably in the medical field
  • Proficiency in medical terminology
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to multi-task and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills
  • Previous clinical experience preferred
  • Customer service oriented attitude/behavior
  • Computer proficiency is required with the ability to type a minimum of 50-60 words per minute
  • Ability to use applicable software as required performing the essential functions of the job
  • Vaccines to include annual Influenza, Hep B, TDaP, and TB.
