Your Day.


As an Employee Relations Manager, you need to know how to:
 

  • Work with management at all levels to advise on disciplinary decisions and assist with documentation of performance improvement plans
  • Guide supervisors in written and verbal communication in all aspects of employee relations and performance management
  • Ensure compliance with company policy, as well as employment and discrimination laws
  • Working with the Director of HR and other company management, assist with the design and monitoring of introductory evaluations and the annual performance evaluation process
  • Assist supervisors by educating on one-on-one meeting expectations and content
  • Manage and monitor compliance with approved leaves and accommodations
  • Work with employees and supervisors to determine reasonable accommodations
  • Oversee employee recognition processes and morale activities
  • Plan and implement employee relations programs and large employee events
  • Assist with PHMG representation at events such as job fairs, community events, or charitable activities
  • Work as an integral part of the Human Resources and overall management teams

Your experience.

  • Bachelor of Science in Human Resources, Business Administration, or other related field
  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM- CP, or SHRM- SCP
  • Three or more years of experience working in employee relations or as an HR Generalist with an emphasis in employee relations
  • Experience and knowledge of leave benefits and regulations preferred
  • Knowledge of employment law, including FLSA, ADA, ADEA, PDA, FMLA, Title VII, USERRA, and other discrimination laws
  • Familiarity with DOL, EEOC, and Idaho Human Rights Commission process
  • Strong interpersonal, coaching, and negotiation skills
  • Ability to think critically and make reasoned decisions
  • Strong writing and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to speak in small and large groups
